In this fictional memo to a library director (written as part of 60040 Information Institutions and Professions), I discussed the importance of organizational change for libraries and outlined ways to reduce the resistance to change among staff.  Recommendations focused on increasing the involvement and agency of stakeholders – including library staff and labor unions - so that they feel invested in change initiatives’ importance and success. As libraries look for ways to thrive in the evolving economy, managing organizational change and cultivating innovation will be important to their future.
