Community Projects

Below are examples of community projects I've worked on in a volunteer role.

Stark Library Foundation

I currently serve on the board for Stark Library Foundation, which advocates for and raises money to support Stark Library. As chair of the marketing committee, I recently led an effort to realign the organization's marketing strategy with key objectives. I am also responsible for managing SLF's website, social media and marketing materials.

Leadership Stark County

In 2019, I completed Leadership Stark County's Signature Program, a year-long leadership development program. At the conclusion of the program, I joined LSC's Asset Building Day committee. Since 2022, I have chaired that committee, which plans a day of activities to promote asset-based community development.

Walsh University DeVille School of Business

Between 2014 and 2020, I served on an advisory board at the Walsh University DeVille School of Business. In this role, I led community outreach efforts, including the creation of an employer breakfast and toolkit to support student internships.

Kent State University iSchool Graduate Student Advisory Council

While completing my MLIS at Kent State University, I served in leadership roles for the iSchool's Graduate Student Advisory Council, including President, VP of Communications, and VP of Student Outreach. In these roles, I planned virtual and in-person events, published a monthly newsletter, managed the group's social media and marketing materials, and created a Virtual Yearbook to celebrate and promote graduates of the program during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2024, I was awarded the August Alpers award for graduates who contributed the most to the school as a student.
